There are two primary schools within the parish,

Constable Primary School & Paisley Primary School.

St Matthews has always been available to help and encouraged both schools. The Vicar is Vice-Chair of the Governors at Paisley Primary and visits the school regularly through each week. He accompanies class groups on some educational visits and the annual residential week for Year 6 pupils. The parish Family Ministry Co-ordinator (when appointed) establishes similar links with Constable Primary.

Both schools come to the church on educational visits as well as for services at Christmas.
